Do you ship internationally?

Very soon. All of our systems are designed and built for international use with auto-sensing 110-240v power supplies but we’re still working out details with our shipping partner. Be notified of when we’re ready; email worldwide@nullgroio.com providing your name, email and country.

Warranty & Returns

What warranty does the system have?

All system components have a One Year Warranty and if by chance something does happen after that period we promise to work with you to find the most economical repair or replacement option, to help you get back up and growing quickly!

What’s your return policy?

We offer a 30 Day Return Policy including a full refund of your original purchase price, less shipping.

How do I cancel a placed order?

You may cancel your order anytime up until the shipment date, and receive a full refund.

General

Do I need anything else to grow?

We offer the complete setup including our a smart control Hub, buckets, reservoirs and lights.  You only need to add the plants and your choice of hydroponic nutrients.  We recommend the General Hydroponic Flora series available online or at your local hydro store.

How many plants can I grow?

Our system is designed to grow from 3 to 6 plants at a time.  If you’d like to grow more we do offer a multi-system order discount, email or chat us for details (info@nullgro.io)

Features

How do you aerate the growing solution without using airstones?

Airstones have never been the best way to add oxygen as they introduce airborne pathogens into your water and require additional maintenance and expense. Instead, we spray water downward to disrupt the water’s surface, like a waterfall.

What type of hydroponic system is this?

We’ve created a best of breed system that combines the most beneficial aspects from Recirculating, Deep Water, Ebb and Flow, and Drip Systems.

Growing

How long does it take to grow?

This depends on what you’re growing and how you’re growing it. Indoor hydroponics allows for the manipulation of a plant’s daytime light cycle, which for many plants can result in extremely short and productive grow cycles of as little as 8 weeks.

What if I’ve never grown hydroponically before?

Everybody can grow with gro.io. We’ve taken decades of science and knowledge and embedded it within our technology, making you a master grower in minutes.

System Planning

What type of room or space can I grow in?

The great thing about growing indoors is that you can grow almost anywhere. Typical choices are a small room, a closet, a temperature-controlled basement or attic… but the following are important considerations when selecting your space:

  • Light: If you intend to use light schedules to manipulate your plants’ growing phases, you will need a light-controlled environment.  
  • Water: Since hydroponics is all about water, you should carefully consider your system’s location in regards to where you will source and dispose of your water. The closer you are to a water source and drain, the better.  
  • Air: Your growing space should not be too hot nor too cold, but the ideal temperature will depend on the plants you grow. Also, plants need some ventilation to ensure proper exchange of oxygen and CO2. How much, depends on how many plants you have and how big you plan on them getting.  
Can I use my own buckets or hydroponic system?

Technically the gro.Hub will work with other bucket systems that measure less than 20 gallons of total system water, but you’ll need to modify your system to ensure that proper water circulation and balance can be achieved. Contact us and we can provide guidance and the required parts.

Why do you only offer a maximum of a six-bucket system? Can I grow more with your system?

We designed the system to accommodate the average home grow setup, which we define as six buckets measuring 3.3 US gallons each = 19 US gallons in the system. Everything else is sized to support this.

Can I use my own lights?

Absolutely. We’ve incorporated two Smart Power Outlets right into the gro.Hub for direct management and control of third-party lights or any other electrical devices you’d like to schedule and control.

Does growing require a lot of physical space?

A three-bucket gro.io setup will require roughly 13” x 36” of dedicated space. A six-bucket setup requires 26” x 36”.

Smart Dosing

Can I use any nutrients and additives I want or do I have to use yours?

We believe in a fully open system, so we designed ours to work with whatever brands of nutrients and additives you like. The only limitation is that your chosen nutrient/additive/pH suppliers must be compatible with our Smart Dosing System. A complete list of chemical compatibilities can be found here below. Please review this list prior to any usage.

Technology

Is the mobile app only iOS or do you offer an Android app?

Currently we offer iOS only version of our app, but Android is under development and should be out within the next few months, hopefully before or soon after we begin shipping.

Other

Do you offer a grow tent or similar enclosure?

Currently we do not offer a tent or enclosure option due to the differing requirements each grower has (available growing space, number of plants, distance between buckets…).   You can however find a wide range of affordable tent options on Amazon and similar sites and each will work nicely with the gro.io system.

Are there any hidden costs or subscription fees to your system?

No. Aside from your normal hydroponic supplies and replacement every 10-12 months of the built-in pH sensor probe (depending on usage) there are no required fees or subscriptions.

Does your cloud-based notification service have a cost or monthly service fee?

No, it’s completely free. In the future we may offer upgraded online services but the basic notification system will always remain as a no-cost service to our users.
